Foundations of Daoist Alchemy is designed to introduce students to the theory and terminology needed to traverse the path of Daoist Alchemy. 

This is an online class that is part of our online "Introduction to Daoist Alchemy" series.
No experience required, this class is open to all interested participants.

November 7 and 8, 2020
2:00-5:00 pm  held via Zoom

Foundational theory:

• Introduction to the Three Treasures: Heaven, Earth, and Man.
• The philosophical and physical correlations of each of the Three Treasures.
• Understanding the Earth’s Yin and Yang Interactions with Heaven.
• Basic terminology used in energetic anatomy and physiology.
• Prenatal and Postnatal Jing, Qi and Shen.
• Discussion of Nature (Xing 性) and Destiny (Ming 命).
• Developing an understanding of the body's physical, emotional, mental and energetic relationship to the universal and environmental energetic fields.

Participants in the Foundations of Daoist Alchemy will also be guided through practices that allow them to have a direct experience and draw from the energies of the sun and moon. The sense of connection developed during this process allows the novitiate to draw on universal energies that were previously inaccessible.

Daoist training.  This training is only open to formal Daoist students of Dr. Shannon.

This training is open to all Tudi and Dizi initiates.  Higher level students are welcome to attend, but should know that the training content will be designed for newer initiates.

Daoist trainings are attended on a donation basis.  The suggested donation is $800 for a 4 day training, or $1000 for a 5 day training.

This training has been designed for initiates at the Daoshi (Priest) level.  It is only open to formal Daoist students of Shifu Shannon who have been  recognized as Daoist Priests within the Temple of Peace and Virtue.

December 5 & 6

Daoist Alchemy is the evolution of the body, mind, and spirit. It is a progressive science, divided into different realms of practice: Heaven, Earth, and Man. As one progresses with deep listening, this science becomes an art.

This transformation begins with the levels of Man, progresses through Earth, and concludes as one traverses the levels of Heaven.

In this seminar, we will delve into the level of Man through the Alchemy of Posture. Posture is the first regulation of Qigong, and thus, it is the first pillar of Daoist alchemy. It is the foundation upon which all training is built. Without a solid foundation no house can stand.

As posture comes into alignment, the imbalances of yin and yang within channels and organs are remediated, blockages eliminated, balance is restored, and a continual flow between Heaven and Earth achieved.

Correctly aligned posture allows not only for the balancing of yin and yang, but the transcendence thereof. Through the proper implementation of posture, it is possible to dissolve into the infinite space of Wuji.

In this seminar we will cover:

• 18 Rules of Posture
• Postural modifications to activate and regulate the meridians
• Proper posture for sitting meditation
• Finding and remediating structural imbalances
• Body Breathing
• Increasing flow between Heaven and Earth.
